We’ve officially made it onto the new Telford Monopoly board! 🎉
Okay… we might be the Super Tax square 😅 — but let’s be honest, if anyone’s going to add value to your property, it’s us! 😉

IT’S THE TELFORD & WREKIN MONOPOLY ‘BIG REVEAL’!

Pass GO, Collect a wad of money - and Advance to Wellington Market.

And if along the way you fancy snapping up real estate across the WHOLE of Telford and Wrekin well, you can .. for just MONOPOLY money!

It’s all in the game - the brand-new official MONOPOLY: Telford & Wrekin Edition game - which was launched this morning in time for Christmas 2025.

“The board is a celebration of everything Telford and Wrekin,” says a delighted Ben Ladd Gibbon from the makers of this unique board, Winning Moves UK.

When it was announced earlier this year that the region is ‘Passing GO’, the public was invited to send in suggestions for landmarks and organisations to star in the game. In all, more than 30 Telford and Wrekin landmarks and organisations feature on the board.

Landing in the top set are Ironbridge and The Wrekin, whilst at the other end of the board - on the game’s most affordable square (‘Old Kent Road’ from the classic London original) - is Coalport Bridge. Inbetween are the great and good of the region including the Tar Tunnels Museum, the Wellington Clock, Harper Adams University, the train station – and the rest of Telford and Wrekin’s finest.

“We have been spoilt for choice putting this MONOPOLY board together,” adds Mr. Ladd Gibbon, Custom Games Partnership Manager at Winning Moves UK, who was at today’s official launch of the game at Harper Adams University, Telford. Mr Monopoly was also there too, gladly welcoming ‘selfies’!.

“We produce official MONOPOLY games based on places all over the world, including in recent years Palm Beach, Dubai, Phuket, and The Hamptons. Now Telford and Wrekin has joined the world’s MONOPOLY elite!”

The board is themed in sets from heritage to entertainment, shopping to sports, there’s a set of museums and of course a train set – plus lots more, all to reflect the vibrancy of the area.

The ‘Big Reveal’ of this bespoke edition of the world’s most popular board game sees:

  • All the famous MONOPOLY multi-coloured property squares handed over to Telford and Wrekin landmarks.

  • The Community Chest and Chance cards customised, including one which fines players for disrespecting the Thomas Telford Statue.

  • The money is bespoke too – with motifs of The Iron Bridge and balloons, both very much symbols of the region, appearing alongside Mr. Monopoly.

Mayor Eileen Callear, Mayor of Telford & Wrekin, says:

"Seeing Telford and Wrekin come to life on a Monopoly board is a moment of real pride for our community.

“This special edition celebrates the places, landmarks, and stories that make our borough so unique—from iconic landmarks to beloved local businesses and a leading charity.

“It’s more than a game; it’s a tribute to our shared heritage and the vibrant future we’re building together. I’m thrilled that residents, visitors, and future generations will get to roll the dice on Telford and Wrekin and discover just how very special our corner of the world truly is!”.

In true MONOPOLY fashion Harper Adams University gets to land a double !

It features on its very own real estate in the game. It also hosted today’s official launch.

Vice-Chancellor of Harper Adams University Professor Ken Sloan says: “As the Borough’s home-grown University - which works to drive its economy forward through our tailored, specialist courses and industry collaborations - we’re delighted to both feature on the Telford and Wrekin Monopoly board and to be hosting its official launch.

“There is so much to be proud of in Telford and Wrekin - and it is great to see so many loved landmarks chosen by our community being celebrated in the game.”

Telford charity Stay gets to star on its very own Community Chest space in the game. The charity - based in Telford and set up more than 30 years ago - provides vital support to vulnerable and homeless people in the borough of Telford & Wrekin.

Stay’s CEO Naomi Pay says: “We are thrilled to be featuring in the game. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness of homelessness and Stay – and to connect with even more people in our local community.”

Winning Moves UK, an official MONOPOLY maker, has produced the brand-new MONOPOLY: Telford & Wrekin Edition board game, under license from Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company.

The MONOPOLY: Telford & Wrekin Edition is available now at TGJones (formerly WH Smith) and all good toy and book stores - as well as extensively online, including at Booghe.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk.
